The use of the fast firing technology in the production of roofing tiles has allowed the realization of extremely compact, highly flexible plants of new design. Today the Monker frame kiln (eur. patent no.0549583) represents the industrially consolidated technological state of the art for the fast firing of tiles. The product for firing is loaded onto frames with a load-bearing structure consisting of recrystallized, infiltrated silicon carbide bars, and a load surface made from cassettes of refractary material. | ![]() 50 Kbyte |
The loading of the tiles in a single layer and the positioning of the technical components of the kiln above and under each layer of frames allows the achievement of an extremely uniform temperature and improved finished product quality. |

Inside the kiln, the frames are
supported and conveyed by short motor-driven rollers located on
both sides of the kiln. This permits the maximum transparency
and gives the combination of the frame, cassettes and tiles
extremely low thermal inertia. |
